Re: 67 small block roadster
re small block roadster keith sounds expensive the hood that you are referring to is ok only if the build date was in feb or march of check reference material in noland adams the complete corvette restorarion and tech guide vol you should be able to purchase a near top flight car for that price yellow is a tough resale for corvettes a trip to pro team or corvette mikes would give you a better selection and most likeley a better price- Top

Re: 67 small block roadster
re small block roadster carl rose dear bob i simply had to respond to this because i own a sunfire yellow black black convertible a few thoughts come to mind right away why was the original engine removed did someone put a hot rodded in there to run the car hard but the a c is still in place and why since just about everyone nowadays realizes that numbers matching cars fetch much higher prices was not the original engine re installed in the car when it was restored is the original block overbored or cracked is this truly the original block the less ethical folks here we go opening a can of worms again who restamp blocks don't tend to restamp small blocks and if so i would suspect it would already be in the car but you never know the build sticker is it original any other documentation you didn't mention the mileage there was an article a few years back in vette vues about a gentleman who inspected a documented car that turned out to have counterfeit documents look in the nolan adams book for typesets the big block hood be prepared to defend that if you plan to show the car it is true a limited number of cars were produced that had hoood but there are no numbers or holes drilled thereof and no stingers on these cars there should be no evidence of a rh hood support mounting bracket is this a car you intend to keep for a while or forever i disagree a bit on the price seems like these things are regional and really it depends on how picky you are what your local selection is and how much you are willing to travel k may not buy you a top flight l a c convertible at least not here in austin but most of the numbers trans diff etc should be correct for that price and lastly have you looked at a few cars compare a few because the more you look at the more you will learn and if you have the time fly out to some of the larger dealers and look over their stock good luck carl p s 'tis true yellow cars don't fetch as much indeed when i first saw the car i would later buy i thought why would anyone paint a corvette that color but over the years it has grown on me but it's next brother or sister will probably be blue- Top

Re: 67 small block roadster
re small block roadster bob carl others appreciate the comments i love the yellow myself and one of the requirements is any color but blue my wife does not want a blue vette don't ask me have not looked around much yet did at carlisle this one is much nicer then the ones for sale for low 's car dealer think he took the stock engine out and was playing with the hi po he has it supposed to have alum heads hp says i can have it with either engine i too am concerned about the original engine and that nothing is wrong with it if it is i have gotten some great advice from a couple of phone calls to ncrs people as what to look for car is in showroom think price is higher because car was not advertised for sale i asked about it and got this repsonse miles have not looked at it underhood or inside yet doing today love the comments don't want to make a mistake or overlook a vette that meets our expectations plan on keeping a long time little showing and do not think the hood is right will see if it is even a possibility today hope i am not out of line in posting like this new to this area tell me if this is ok or not thanks bob- Top
