I have a grille off of a 66, but don't know if it's original or not. No numbers on it, but it's a fairly heavy bugger. Defintely not made out of cheap tin. Some bone-head put it on my 65 for some reason. Maybe they just preferred its looks to the 65 grille. It's not in perfect shape, but I'd hate to chuck it if I thought someone might be able to use it. Thoughts?

Re: 1966 Grille
There are no numbers on it, as far as I could see. It looks as though it has been there a long time, so they could have been eroded away by time if they were just stamped on or if they weren't deeply embossed. Any indication as to where the numbers were originally located?- Top

Re: 1966 Grille
Mark,
What the condition of your grill? I am restoring a 66 as we speak ,but my grill {even though it is in good shape} has been "blacked out" by the previous owner !so my options are to go new or strip the black paint along with the frost and refrost.Neither option is very appealing to me.

Re: 1966 Grille
It's fairly well "used" if that means anything to you. It has been a driver and I have no idea how long the grille has been on the car. I'd be happy to send you some pictures if you're interested in it. I would like someone to be able to use it if it could find a home on a car and be of some value to someone. I think with some tlc, it could be a decent grille without all of the stripping/etc. The frost is relatively intact, but again, it isn't a new appearing grille. You'll have to be the judge. I'm not looking to get rich off of it...maybe just shipping and whatever you think it's worth.
Let me know what you want to do. You can e-mail me at Mark.Pugmire@HCAHealthcare.com
Thanks,
