About 7 years ago a 6 month old male child came into our home, sick & neglected! He has remained with us since that time! 3yr. ago, we decided we should, and wanted to adopt this fine young boy! so after many court visits and many $$$ to lawyers, I am VERY PROUD to be the legal father of a 7&1/2 yr. old son, seldom has my 63 conv. left the drive that he has not been in the seat next to me in the last 4 yrs. (his choice), and with the cub scouts pine wood derby next weekend he decided he would make his entry a 59 corvette (his choice)! As you can see we have another corvette nut in our family, and afuture NCRS member! Did I mention that he is a straight A student, and will have a fit if he has to miss school for ANY reason? This all became real on Jan 13 2000 so for our part the new century is starting out great! Now with all the legal stuff done we can turn our efforts to the things our 63 needs such as paint and soforth, also we (he & I) will hopefully put the 67 B.B. conv. that I have been watching for the last 4yrs. ($$$$$$ going to lawyers, courts) in our garage (needs restored but is orig.) The future of the NCRS is indeed brite with young people like him on the horizon! Hope I didn't bore you with this post I'm just a very proud new father with a great new son!!! wanted to tell someone! C.E.Storer & son #24633

I forgot to mention that He informed me a few yrs. ago that the 63 was his and I should get my own vet. I also have to race him to the mail box to get to our corvette mags. first! As I said a corvette nut through and through! May your life be as rich as mine now is! C.E. Storer- Top

Re: Future brite for NCRS
I would tend to agree with you about the NCRSs future but add that it will be a dim bulb when compared to the brilliance brought to your personal life by your generosity and compassion for the plight of others.
All the best to your new family.

Re: Future brite for NCRS
C. E. ,
Congratulations and the best to your family. As a father with a 9 year old son (and not quite the enthusiast your son appears to be) may I suggest that for $30/yr ya get your son his own NCRS number now. He'll REALLY feel part of the crowd and by the time he gets to drive (legally) he'll have an "old timer's" number for a 16 year old !

Re: Future brite for NCRS
Very heartwarming story indeed. :) I didn't know you could get your kids a NCRS number. I'm going to have to do that for Alexanna! My 4 year old daughter is *finally* showing an interest in my Corvette, in fact the past few weeks she's been having a ball out in the garage handing me tools & cleaning the car and asking me hourly "Is the garage warm enough yet, can we go work on the Corvette?" :D So what if she spritzes an entire bottle of water and washes it off at the same place 100 times and barely gets it dry, or mixes up the regular and phillips (plain and star) screw drivers in the rollaway? ;) I figure by the time she's 6 she'll be detailing it for me. She's saving her allowance for a Kids Corvette "like she saw the other kids driving at Carlisle last summer." We might have to up her allowance. ;) You should hear her tale about Corvette waves, and having to watch Mommy and wave up really high "Like this" since she can't see out of my '70 yet. ~Juliet2019 Sebring Orange 8-Spd Coupe (daily driver & autocross) 6k mi.

Juliet -- Check out the last paragraphs of my web-site (cars) for the reaction of my two teen-age youngsters. http://member.aol.com/olgeezr/cars.html When they were in High School, in the early '80s, they were perfectly willing to drive (particularly of a date) dad's Corvette -- either the silver '75 conv in the summer or the silver anniversary coupe in the winter, but they had NO interest in rebuilding.- Top

Re: Future brite for NCRS
C.E & Juliet, Very much enjoyed learning about your respective children's growing love for Corvettes. It's heartwarming to hear of parents and children sharing the same hobby. C.E., you get my vote for Dad of the Year and both you and your son are extremely lucky to have each other but somehow I think you bothalready know that. Juliet, you better make another set of keys for that beautiful Corvette because you may very well only have temporary custody of that fine vehicle until your daughter reaches legal driving age. I am currently attempting to restore my 68 to original condition which includes a LeMans blue paint job BUT my son who will be 8 in February is insisting it be red. Kids are wonderful!!! Kurt- Top
