    C-2 Flywheel Identification

Looking thru my old parts, I found a NOS flyweel in the box with casting numbers. 3856579 GM2NF and a date code F23 7. Overall width is 13"

    Can someone identify this? BB/SB

    Thanks,

    Bill

    Re: C-2 Flywheel Identification

    Bill-----

GM casting #3856579 is the casting number used for a lightweight (15 lb), 12-3/4" flywheel that was originally used for 1965 L-78, 1967-69 L-88/ZL-1, and 70-72 ZR-1. It was used for several successive flywheel PART numbers, including GM #3866735, 3991406, 14085720. The latter part is still available.

While it was primarily originally used for big blocks, it will fit and be 100% functional for any internally balanced big block or small block.

      Thanks Joe!

I will put it in the save bin.
