    Old Vette on TV show?

OK, I know this isnt the appropriate forum, but I just gotta know....

Which of the old TV shows had the main character driving around in an old Corvette? (50's car, I think) I thought it was Robert Urich in Vegas, but he drove a T-bird. Thanks gentlemen and ladies!

You are perhaps refering to "Route 66"? Check the latest issue of Corvette Enthusiast for a complete rundown on the series which aired in the early 60's.

No, I'm not old enough to remember that show ;-)

This was one from about 10 or 15 years ago I think. I vaguely remember a C1 that I'm pretty sure was red with white or silver coves.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm sure someone knows.

This probably isn't the answer you're looking for but I remember a series in the seventies entitiled "Stingray". It starred a man who had a secret past who helped people with their "troubles" and in return, he told them that they owed him a favor someday, thus parlaying these favors into feats that he would be unable to accomplish on his own to help more people.. The featured car was a mildly customized (teardrop mirrors, custom wheels, no front bumper, etc.)black '65 coupe. The hero was contacted via an ad in the local paper for a "Stingray" for sale. The series was created by Stephen J. Cannell.

I always remember the actor's face when ever I see him but can't think of his name...the show I think was called Riptide.

Riptide starred Joe Penny and Perry King.

Not what you were looking for, but another show that featured a main character in a Corvette, was private detective Paul Drake (64 roadster), during the latter years of Perry Mason, when the production company obviously switched from Ford products. Perry (Raymond Burr) had driven a Lincoln convertible, and Paul Drake a Thunderbird convertible during the early years, but Perry switched to a Cadillac in the latter years, and Drake to a 'Vette.

With reference to the series "Stingray", (starring Nick Mancuso), it was filmed mostly in Canada (BC) and the car was subsequently advertised for sale some years ago through the Auto Trader.

The first episode of Vegas had Robert Urich driving a mid year Vette. The car was burned in that show and he went to a car dealer and picked out the T bird.
