My 1963 convertible is coming along nicely--but I really need a new top. The frame is in good shape--but someone along the way put a replacement top that is not satisfactory to me. Can someone point me to a shop that will install an accurate dated replacement on my frame?

Re: convertible top replacement
There are vendors that provide this service, but I think that you will get a better fit by installing the frame on the car, then the top on the frame. You are too far from me to recommend a shop, but I am sure that someone will make a recommendationDick Whittington- Top

Re: convertible top replacement
Without looking at a map I am not sure how far Wheeling is from Knoxville. However if you can get to Knoxville in April and Al Knoch will be at the Corvette Expo there. You might give them a call today and see if they will be installing their convertible tops. A co-worker told me he is taking his 65 to the Expo to get the interior and top done on his 65. An appointment and using their products are a must.- Top

Re: convertible top replacement
Don,
Al Knoch get $680 for a correct dated and installed top on a midyear. This is the quote they gave me over the phone about 3 weeks ago. I am going to take my car to the Bloomington Gold event to have them install a new top on my '64 convertible. Call and ask for Dale at Al Knoch interiors, their numbe is 1-800-880-8080. An appointment is required.
Best Regards,

Re: convertible top replacement
There's no way on earth a new top will fit the car unless it's installed on the car, after the top frame has been properly adjusted, the weatherstrips fitted, and the glass adjusted to fit. Order the top, pads, etc. from Al Knoch, and any competent trim shop that knows Corvettes can install it (on the car).- Top
