Does anyone know of good quality repro splash shields out there? I was thinking of trying Bairs Corvettes and I know of several other companies that sell them but would they pass judging? Are they even an item that gets looked at close enough to tell if they are original or repro? I've heard that originals have a P/N on them but mine are so bad that I can't see it, which makes me think that they will still look bad if I get them replated and hence the repro option. Should you be able to see any numbers once the shield is installed? Again, any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Re: Advice on repro brake splash shields
Original shields had variations on the size of the characters used to stamp the part numbers into them. I have heard that the repros have the part numbers but I don't know the size and shape of the characters. Yes, you can see the part numbers when installed on the car since they are stamped on the outsided of the shield. It all depends on how particular you are.
I would study your originals and make sure they are not restorable. If you can't restore them I would look for good used replacements. I avoid reproduction when possible, just my preference. Later, Terry- Top
