    67 Horn button

There is a horn button on ebay that says it has "GT" on the back. My button has a "D" on the back. Which is correct?

This is not an original horn button, the upper left square should be black not white. FYI: There has been a few correct one's on ebay in the last few weeks keep looking.

Question: Are you looking for NOS quality?

I looked closly at the few that I have, it looks like the repro's have a thin bezel compared to a correct part, I found a part number stamped on the bezel: 3899365.

Thank you for the information. The difference in the flags is obvious enough to be embarassing. I would like a NOS quality horn button. I would settle for a used one in nice shape.

My cap has a GT stamped in the back. It also has a white box as the first color in the flag.Kieth Biggers 1967 team leader, judged my interior at a National.I asked him his opinion of my cap.I was told it was correct.I have a friend of a friend who has an 8,000 mile original car.It also has the white box first.

All I know is the 1967 NCRS Technical and Judging manual: states: "with a black upper square on the right flag and a black background"

And... I have a NOS horn button in the box. Part no: 3899367

Could someone please confirm who is correct....the Judging Guide or Keith Biggers....or could it be that BOTH colors were interchanged.

                    Re: 67 Horn button

I have (3) original and 4 reproduction buttons, the correct button will have 3899365 stamped on the inside of the bezel, and all of the (3) originals (one NOS in the box with the part # 3899365) have the black not the white in the upper corner.

I have seen a few good reproduction with the black square not the white in the upper corner but without the part number and the correct thickness and weight.

                    Hope this helps.

Last but not least...The horn cap Emblem reflects most of all chevrolet cross flag with fleur-de-lis... "look at the emblem on your hood"...all of the flag's even the double flags have black in the upper corner.

Let me know if I am mistaken.

                      Good Luck
