Silver Anniversary L48, 4pd

I believe that 1978 Silver Anniversary L48, 4speed cars are quite rare.
Does anyone know how many were built?

They only made 3,385 with a 4 speed.How many were two tone silver aniversary paintI don't know. They made 15,283 with that paint though, so if 1/3 - 1/4 of those had the 4-speed it would make them fairly rare.

Tom is correct in that it is not known! But if you extrapolate, 4 speeds made up less than 10 percent of those Corvettes built in 78. Ten percent of the 15,283 B2Z make the count at 1,528...yes...it would appear rather rare regardles of L48 or L82! But than most Corvettes were equipped with L48 making the L82 4-speed much more rare.

Ashley, I would think your combo would be rare. L-48 with 4-speed would be the key. If 46776 cars were built and 38614 were autos. That would have 8162 4 speeds, of which 3385 were close ratios. Now we are down to 4777 wide ratios. Now it gets tougher. L-82 cars could have a wide ratio, so some of the 4777 wide ratio cars were L-82s. You could not get a L-48 close ratio. So how many of the 4777 were L-48s or L-82s??? Now add the silver paint.. Rare car I would say...Kurt

I know of one Silver Anniversary L-48 4 speed. I've owned it since new! I'll bet this one's combination is rare...it has Oyster leather, A/C, ZX2, U58, U75, U81, QGR, FE7 suspension. It doesn't have power windows or door locks...why? I was young and foolish :>

I also owned a silver anniversary, paid for it before any one knew what it would look like, With every option you could get including a trailering package. I even ordered and got the factory anniversary luggage and still have it, but sold the vett years ago.
Few people have ever seen them and no one wonted to buy them , so we use them in our 55 Corvette to day.
PS I also bought two pace vetts at the same time , so I could and did sell them for $35,000 each which I knew I would and got the silver vett FREE It was 14500,000 and the pace vetts were 1495,000 each.
