C1 gas guage changes when braking

My C1 gas guage registers 1/4 tank until I hit the brakes and then it reads 3/4 tank full. After releasing brakes it goes back to registering 1/4 tank. Any ideas on where to start trouble shooting?

This is a classic grounding problem. Run a dedicated grounding wire from the tank sender to the frame, and the problem should go away.

To be just a bit more specific, run the ground wire from the sending unit FLANGE to the frame. You can snake a wire down the same hole the fuel lines go through and attach to a "stealth" location on the frame. Use one of those serrated washers on the attaching screw to get a better connection.

        Gary,
The great thing is--if you start running low on gas, just put on the brake lightly, and you'll be fine!

In the same vane - jack up the rear end and you will get great gas mileage because you will always be going down hill.
