Year One is getting in the Corvette parts business. They're taking orders for their Corvette parts catalogue now. They have parts I've been unable to find from other vendors. For example, they had an AC receiver/drier bracket that only DrRebuild had, and he wanted a ridiculous price for shipping--plus all the other hateful crap (sorry). I talk with Alice at Year One--800.932.7663 x327--she's most helpful. Just thought I'd pass this along.

Re: Who was hateful to you?
Questions on different shipping costs, why? Larger firms have been and are being given reduced rates, therefore they can make money on the shipping costs. The price may look great, however look at the total cost with shipping. Such pratice has been in affect for some time and not just with parts, but everything (Have a friend who sold shipping services). just FYI- Top

Re: Who was hateful to you?
I know what you mean about being hateful when I call "Dr. Rebuild" I can never get past the two females who answer the phone, you can never talk to anyone in tech. support the two ladies just keep asking if you want to order now and can get quite short with you- Top

Re: Who was hateful to you?
Not defending anyone, but when you call the toll free 800 line for orders only that is what the vendor expects from the call. Customers are given another number to call for tech advise and should be respectful of the vendors order lines. Toll free lines are only free to the caller. The vendors pay thousands of dollars each month so the customer can have the convenience of a toll free call.

Re: Who was hateful to you?
i will add to the above comments, i also have difficulty dealing with some suppliers at times but please understand the owner operator of D.R has offered for years i am sure a lot of tech , base to the many individuals involved in the corvette hobby, i also understand that it is difficult to sometimes stay in business with only tech and not selling any product, yes i have dealt with D.R and the purchase was delivered and yes delivery was a little heavy , but they had the parts and it was cheaper than driving there! and not only that i believe the owner is a member , a brother more or less, better to stick together and move forward in a positive manner T.E.A.M -Together every one acheives more- Top

Re: Who was hateful to you?
Paul-----
Now that REALLY amazes me. If you had said that you talked to the good doctor and he had gotten a little short with you, I could understand that. That rascal can be a little "persnickety" and "obtuse", at times. But, you've got to understand----he's old and 35 years in the business dealing with customers (especially customers that think of Corvettes as a religion) can do that to a guy. Did you ever see an old "punch drunk" former prize fighter? Well, Dr. Rebuild has the Corvette-Restoration-Parts-Business version of that syndrome. And, it's folks like us that have done it to him! But, he's retired now (on a Corvette-Restoration-Parts-Business-induced disability), so having to deal with him is not-too-common these days.
Anyway, I can't imagine, AT ALL, those two ladies that take care of things in the good doctor's 'stead (since he's been put out to pasture) being in ANY way obnoxious. I think the chances of that are about as great as calling, talking to the good doctor himself, having him tell you to call back on the toll free-line so he can discuss your personal problems with you at length, offer to send you the parts you need for free with no shipping charges, at all, and offer to commit 'hari-kari' if the parts are not 100% true-to-original in every nuance of detail.
I mean, honestly, if you can try the patience of those 2 gals, then you'd be capable of trying the patience of Jesus Christ, himself. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Who was hateful to you?
I agree with Joe Ray completely! I have never had anything but efficient and helpful service from both of them. I do not ever use his 800 number however, since I want the freedom to stop in the middle of an order and ask questions.
As long as you understand this and do not use the tool-free line to get answers to techinical questions, I am sure that you will get a level of service that you will find acceptable.

Re: Who was hateful to you?
I have always been treated very well when I call Dr.Rebuild. Debbie will go out of her way to answer a question about a part and even get the part in her hand and describe it if necessary. Can't say I have had the same service from other vendors. Always struck me as very knowledgeable about Corvettes and the parts they sell.- Top
