Could someone post a picture of a 1964 air filter element for a 300hp engine. I have the paper element but would like to see what the original one looks like. A neighbor a few blocks away stopped when I had the garage door up and saw the car inside. Told me he had a 65 SB coupe that he sold but still had two filter elements sitting in his garage. Said their mine if I want them.
I told him I had a couple spares and he said his were not the paper filters but the "old style" or original type.
STEVE - DON'T PASS UP THE OPPORTUNITY. HOPEFULLY THEY ARE STILL GOOD BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL AIR FILTER ELEMENT WAS AN OIL WETTED SPONGE-LIKE MATERIAL BUT IF THE PACKAGE IS OPENED OR LEAKED THE ELEMENT TURNS TO AN OILY SPONGE MESS AND AREN'T USEABLE. THE PART NUMBER IS 6418399 AND IF IT IS IN GOOD SHAPE, IT WILL HAVE AN AC NUMBER PRESSED IN TO THE OUTER SURFACE OF THE SPONGE. I DON'T HAVE THE AC NUMBER HANDY, BUT SOMEONE WILL POST IT. GOOD LUCK, PETE
