1958 Trying to replace the lower rubber rain channels on the side glass. The glass is still in the stainless frame but I wanted to replace the cracked/dry rotted lower frame seal/rain channel. I used soapy water. Tried it with rubber channel installed in metal frame and then tried to slide it onto the glass. Also tried rubber installed on glass then tried to put the lower frame on. I stood the glass up vertically both ways and could barely get it started by pushing down on the frame. I'm afraid I will break the glass. Got the rubber channel from CC. The lower frame and old/original rubber channel came off easily. Any help please!!! TIA Ken

Re: C1 Side Window Glass- AAAAAAAHHHH
I had to take mine off and on several times. First make sure you have the rubber on so the cutout is out and forward so it will clear the front roller guide. I purchased a clamp with rubber ends that is long enough to clamp the bottom and the top of the frame. Gradually pull it in on one side and then the other. It worked great for me. Tilt the forward end of the glass into the door first and tuck the rubber in. After the rubber is inside the door get the front roller into the track. If you install new rollers on the other guide, make sure the rivet is ground down enough to clear the regulator when it rolls down.
Good luck
