1975 conv doors

Does anyone know if the doors for a 75 coupe are the same (will they fit) a 75 convertible. Also what other years (coupe or convertible) will fit a 75 convertible ? Thanks, Ed

68-75 coupe and convertible doors are NOT interchangeable. Unfortunately, the supply of serviceable coupe doors generally exceeds that of similar convertible doors. In fact, that's probably what generated your question.


With respect to the interchangeability of convertible doors between 68-75 model years, I believe that they will physically fit and bolt in. However, there are model year differences between doors. For 1968, the differences with the external door lock mechanism is obvious and these doors cannot be modified to the 75 external configuration. In 1970, door guide pins were added to the convertible doors with a recepticle on the lock pillar. So, if you have a 1975 convertible, I believe that your best bet would be to look for a 1970-1975 convertible for donor doors. There will still be interior differences but correcting that shouldn't be too difficult.
