I have two jack handles, both with the correct 3 holes in the handle. One is an NOS with the GM tag attached, with a large head rivet attaching the wrench assembly to the hanle. The other has a small head rivet and the body of the hinged, wrench sectiion is smaller. Would these differences necessarily mean the one without the tag is a reproduction?

Re: ORIGINAL '66/'67 JACK HANDLE RIVET
Rob - I've seen both types of rivets also. My experience is the same as yours in that the ones I've seen with the larger head rivet (larger diameter somewhat rounded head rivet) have definitely been GM parts because the parts tag is still on. My read is that the smaller head rivet (smaller diameter flat head rivet) is typical of the rivet in the jack handles that originally came with the '66/ '67s and earlier Corvettes. Pete- Top

Re: Scan of Jack Handle For Rob Axel 2
Chuck - I think you can count on the one with the part number tag being a SERVICE item unless Rob is going around and putting part number stckers on al the jack handles he finds. The one with the small rivet head is at least typical of the original or earlier vintage jack handles. Pete- Top
