Group 9.023 Body Mount Cushions c2

I have two types of rubber cushions from the parts group 9.023. I assume both are "service replacement" but don't know why they are different. One is 3842914 and the other is 3842913. As I recall, the 913 version has a metal washer embedded on one side. The other version is 100% rubber. Why?

    Thanks

      Tom-----

The number 3 and 4 body mounts on mid years use a 2 part cushion. For the number 3 position, the GM #3842914 is used on the upper part of the "sandwiched" assembly (above the body) and the GM #3842913 is used lower (below the body). For the number 4 position, the cushion installation is reversed.

The GM #3842914 is a 1 piece part, manufactured entirely of an elastomer. The GM #3842913 is a 2 part assembly consisting of an elastomer and an "integral" steel reinforcing "washer". The GM #3842913 is discontinued while the GM #3842914 remains available. Both are available in reproduction, though.
