    C2:67 Holley Restoration-Weekend 2

Well, continuing on my 3810 restoration project and have finished with the all the miscellaneous parts attached to the main body. Here's a picture of them drying out:

Didn't realize haw many little parts, bolts and screws need to be replated. Here's another shot with the main body in the plating tank:

Ran out of time and Dremel wire brushes. The main body is the toughest to finish with all those crevices and interior air horn spaces to polish. I'll be doing that along with the throttle plate next weekend.

    Still having fun,

Jerry, Looks great. Looks like your using the caswell plating system. I'm wondering how long you left the bigger parts in the cad tank. Mike

      Mike,

On the pot metal fuel bowls, I didn't replate. Just buffed them out with a Nylok brush on a drill in a vise, and then dip in the dichromate. On the pot metal and steel parts, I buff, plate for 1/2 hour (per the caswell manual), then buff again and dip.

I replated the main body last night for a half hour, pulled it out and started rebuffing, but ran out of time and buffing tools. The main body is the toughest to buff with all the little crevices, and interior areas. Wore out two dremel brushes, looking for a scotch-brite pad that can be put on the end of a drill.

One of the fuel bowls came out too bright, looks like gold plating. I'm waiting to see how the main body comes out next weekend, so I might redo it to get a a better finish match.
