On a 67 coupe, what color should the riveted dash extension (end tabs?)be painted? Does the color match that of the body or the dash? Also, what color are the rivets, natural or painted? Thanks!

Don,

On 65-67, (only) the panel tab and rivet color would depend on the interior/exterior colors of the car. If the interior and exterior colors are not the same, (red body/black interior etc) the tabs and rivet heads would be painted gloss body color in a separate operation after the dash panel is installed. If the interior and exterior colors are the same, (red body/red interior) the tabs and rivets would not have been painted after dash installation so the tabs would be semi flat interior color and the rivet heads would be black. Seems like this has been a very confusing issue for many over the years.
