    Center force clutch

    Does a Center force pressure plate simply unbolt from the flywheel like a regular plate? Mine seems to be under pressure. I tried to find a website for them but was unsuccessful. Anybody have a link for them? www.centerforce.com does not work. Thanks. Pat G.

    Pat,

    I'm pulling the Toploader out of my 68 Rustang next week. It has the dual-friction assembly which I like alot, but requires quite a bit of leg force! It simply bolts around the perimeter like normal, maybe six or so, I used ARP hardware. I believe mine has a LUK stamping underneath the orange paint. Good luck!

      i use the dual friction centerforce clutches on all my cars. all clutch disc's are under pressure from the "pressure plate" you have to push on the clutch to release. and just the opposite from the other post the peddle pressure is very much reduced with a centerforce. that is their patented idea. the spinning centrifical weights apply increasing force with higher rpm.

        Pat,
        I should have mentioned that the pressure required to depress the clutch pedal is less than before, but for my application, it is still noticeable in stop-and-go traffic. The GM configuration is better designed than the Ford, and this must help too. My whole assembly, set up per factory specs, is quite wonky at best(68 GT small block Ford)I even made my own alignment tool to adjust the shift rods.
