    Re: cleaning seat belts

A two step process of soaking them in laundry detergent over night and then using a soak of oxalic acid ( diluted ) will clean then up nicely.

It is used in the dyeing industry and comes in a powdered form where you mix about a cup with a 1/2 gallon or so of water. If you know some one at a dye/die house or in the textile industry you can getr some. It doesn't seem to destroy the chrome and does take some rust off.
