A few weeks ago I asked for advice on changing gears in my 69 l-46. M-21 close ratio car.I had a 4:11 in it. I got all kinds of input from this board. I found a good 3:36 here locally and decided to give it a try, my first choice was a 3:55 but none available at the time.Well I am very happy with the 3:36 it runs like a completely different car.I was concerened about 1st gear being to high and the take off, but no problem.I can run on the highway now at a reasonable rpm.I still think that the 3:55 would be about perfect but what I have ain't bad.As Joe always say's feedback is what makes this board work.

Hi Tom, I've got the 3:36 rear also,but with M20 wide ratio and I get good take off plus with those gears it's great on the highway.

Thanks for posting this Tom,

My 63 also has this combination and it's this type of info that helps me focus on going forward vs redoing what is already finished.
