1967 Smallblock hood

Has anyone ever seen a date stamp on the underside of a 1967 small block hood? My 1967 smallblock has a very faint date stamp in white on the right side close to the center support. The stamp is very similiar to the date stamp on the sparetire tub. JAN131967, the car was built 1st week of Feb. Any help would be appreciated

No I haven't, but I just found that white date stamp on my spare tire tub last week!

Well the stamp on my hood likes exactly like the one on the sparetire tub. I have never seen the hood stamped on any other 67

When I was looking at used hoods I saw one with a date stamp like the one you describe. I also remember reading about someone else who had one on their hood but I don't remember where. It may have been right here in the archives.

I can see that a stamp would be present on a hood just as any other part. It probably was in an area where the blackout paint had poor coverage and it shows thru. Thats probably why most hoods don't have a stamp...it probably was covered by the blackout. My 2 Cents......

Yes my hood had that stamp, I have a picture somewhere and I'll post it as soon as I find it.

Stamped heater box

While we are discussing stamps... my heater box has a part number and some other number code stamped inside of it with white ink...letters about 3/8 inch high.

A friend of mine has a low mileage 67 and there is a date stamp on his hood and also there is a date stamp on the backside of his gas door.

Howard,
I have a white date stamp on my 65 hood. I discovered it when I was getting ready to repaint the underside of the hood.

Almost, if not every, fiberglass part had a date on it. Most times they are covered up, but they were there.
