    C2 U JOINT SQUEAK

I assume there is no way to quiet a non-grease fitting type u-joint when it begins to squeak, other than to replace it? It is original, with 80,000 miles.

If its squeaking its probably junk! You can remove it and clean/inspect as descibed in an earlier discussion a few days ago but..... its probably junk.

        Rob-----

A "squeaking" or "clicking" u-joint usually indicates one in which the needle bearings have been reduced to "iron oxide powder". You will likely be able to "pour" the bearings out of the bearing caps. This condition is considered "terminal" and the u-joints need to be "laid to rest".
