I've been told that switching out my present non-working radio to a new one is a bit of a bear. Any help out there? Or can you direct me to a publication that can walk me throught this? Thanks.

Re: Changing out radio in my 69
Yes, it is a bear and time consuming. Just don't pry on the bezel in any way or it will crack in the thin portion above the gauges. I would refer to your gm service manual. They are cheap and you can get them on ebay.
When I did it I was removing my whole dash so I slowly took everything apart. I would remove the passenger side lower dash pad and the front consol panels. There are jam nuts behind the radio knobs and there is a strap and screw attached to the right rear side of the radio. Go slowly or you might make things worse. Later, Terry- Top

Re: Changing out radio in my 69
Mike does your 69 have air conditioning? Removing a radio is easier if your Corvette does not have air conditioning. It has been a few years since I have done this to my 68, but I from what I can remember I was able to get it out with out disturbing the center instrument cluster. Removing the radio in my 70 required a different procedure because it has air conditioning.- Top
