I need a "heads" up

I have been offered a free set of solid heads off a 350 for my engine rebuild project, but don't know if they can be melded into performance heads.

They are stock #14022601 with from what I can rough measure 1-13/16" exhaust and 1-1/2" intake valves.

They would go on a .030 over 350 with a mild cam

Can I acheive any kind of performance out of these heads or would I be wasting my money on these freebies?

GM CASTING #14022601 were used on late 70s/early 80s 267 cid and 305 cid small blocks. These were small bore engines and the intake valve size was consequently reduced. I wouldn't recommend these for any sort of performance applications, at all. A set of 1.94/1.50 heads are not very expensive, at all, and are VERY plentiful. These would be a much better bet.

It was one of those too good to be true deals anyway so I didn't put a whole lot of excitment behind them.

I'll let them collect dust until they become worth something oh say in about twenty years
