Anyone happen to know the serial number of the first LT1 in 1972? Just wondering because I own #500091, Yellow/Dk Saddle, cp. G.

Contace Scott Lindee (I'll email you his email addy). He is the keeper of the NCRS LT1 survey. If you have old Restorer magazines, he did a series of stories on his survey some time back.

You may have the first '72 LT-1, and I may have one of the last '71's. 21701 of 21801 with a build date of july 15, 1971.

Hi George,

My '72 LT-1 is #500085, so I beat you by 6 cars.... Very interesting though that our cars were on the assembly line at the same time and built by the same folks... I posted a thread a month or so ago about my CRT engine code which I am trying to find more information about. What is your engine code?

Hi ....GM ran the yellow cars first that year, #989. I have history on the 9th car built,500009. It was a base 350 engine car. The earliest LT1 to come to Canada was #294...........Hope that helps.
