Re: Tail lights
Your copy of the Owner's Manual will provide a chart of what lamps go in what sockets by lamp number. If you're popping fuses, I'd start by pulling the lamp lens, removing the lamps and verifying you have the correct lamp in each socket--you shouldn't see an illumination intensity difference!
Also, some sockets are orientation specific with non-symmetric guide stubs to insure a lamp isn't inserted improperly and the contacts on each bulb align properly with the power contact(s) in the socket. Although uncommon, it IS possible to insert an incorrect lamp into a given socket and wind up shorting one of the power contacts (that'll blow a fuse right as rain!)....
On headlight door synchronization, much here depends on the year of the Corvette. C2 or mid-year cars use electric motors to actuate the HL buckets and much depends on having the buckets installed properly (low and uniform rotational friction) as well as the motors being in good repair with fresh grease.
C3 or Shark cars use vacuum motors to actuate the HL buckets. Getting a reasonable sychronization profile depends on the door(s) mechanics being properly lubricated/adjusted AND the vacuum system system having a leak free profile.- Top
