looking for correct part no. for fan blade on a '70 454 with A/C. also for correct date would it be within 6 mo. of engine assembly or car build date. thanks for any help

The original part number was GM #3969926 which was discontinued from SERVICE in November, 1970. The 3969926 was replaced in mid-1970 PRODUCTION by GM #3993889. The 3993889 was discontinued in May, 1984.
The 3969926 and the 3993889 are virtually identical. They have 7 blades and are of 17-1/2" diameter. Most notably, they have an unusual blade tip configuration which includes pointed tips. This design was used to reduce noise with the high blade pitch. A similar fan was used for 1971-73 which was of GM #3992095. However, this fan has a different fan clutch mounting pattern and larger center hole as do all 1971+ fan blade assemblies. The 71+ fan blade is NOT interchangeable with the earlier.
The GM #3969926 and GM #3993889 are among the most difficult of all Corvette fan blade assemblies to locate. In particular, the 3969926 is difficult since it was used for such a short time in PRODUCTION and was discontinued from SERVICE so soon thereafter. These blades in good condition fetch $500-1,000.In Appreciation of John Hinckley
