    '67 shoulder belts

I have a '67 convertible that I think had factory shoulder belts? There is a plate inside the rear wheelwells and from the inside there is a threaded hole, kind of like where the seat belts bolt to the outer plates. Is this where the shoulder belts bolted to? Could you have shoulder belts in a conv.?

Can't answer your hardware question, have you looked for a tank sticker on your car yet? That would be the best way to see if your car came with shoulder belts.

Mine is a Coupe but I believe they were available on convertibles as well.

These backing plates were on most if not all 67s with or without Harneses. You may be able to tell if there is an exceptions code on the data plate after the trim code. Look for that code unless it has STD interior.

Jeremy - Some quick checks would be to note 1) if a hole is punched in the carpet, 2) if the plug in the pplug in the reinforcement plate has been removed, and 3) if there are signs of the buckle holder being present. Also if you haven't already, check out the UPC A85 section in the AIM. Good luck. Pete

The backing plates were in all cars regardless if it had the shoulder belt option. The AIM covers this on page G57 UPC B1. The option A85 is covered on page G286 UPC A85 which references "UPC 1".
