    C2 underbody

What would be the correct look for restoring the underbody of a c2 for flight judging? Also, should the metel reinforcement in front of the gas tank the rocker/dooorsill channels, and the front seat mount reinforment, all be green zinc chromate? And the rest of the underbody brackets be semi-gloss black? Do I have it correct? I have heard that some people paint the underbody fiberglass with a flat clear laquer, is this common? Is this acceptable with flight judging? Thanks for your help.

    Re: C2 underbody

The underbody is bare glass. Why clear it? It won't rust!
The door sill channels (cage) are green zinc chromate.
The front seat mount reinforcement is semiflat black.
The vertical reinforcement in front of the gas tank is semiflat black.
    The seatbelt reinforcements are plated
The small seat plates are semiflat black.

ALL the rivets are natural unless they are in the blackout areas

C2 underbody finishes; it varies depending on...

      Steve,

I think some of the finishes on the underbody items either varied by year during the C2 period and/or varied depedning if the car came from St. Louis or AO Smith. For example, the front seat mount reinforcements are semi-gloss black for St. Louis '66 cars, but green zinc chromate (I think that's it) for AO Smith '66 cars. Also, for '66 I think the small seat plates are natural.

OK, seat belt mount plates are plated what color? All plates are painted first, then installed? Is this correct? And if so, I guess I should remove all plates, paint and reinstall. Correct?

What about the seat belt plates on a '67 covertible?
