Re: 1966 seat removal
Marc --- Everything from the inside. Adjust seat max rearwards in its track, to get access to a bolt at a forward end of each track. After undoing the two track bolts, slide seat forward on the tracks to check the two u-brackets (bolted to the floor) into which the tapered ends of the tracks slide. Wiggle the seat to slide the tracks forward and out of these brackets. Carpet should come out easily after seat belts removed.- Top

Re: 1966 seat removal
The seats are removed by removing the bolt on the front of each seat rail and the two bolts at the back of each. Each bolt is held on from underneath by flat plates that incorporate either a nut or are tapped directly. No wrench needed underneath.
This assumes no one threw those flat plates away.
My car's seats were very difficult to move sufficiently to allow clearance of the rear bolts. I used two short 2x6's wrapped in towels inserted behind the seat and gently tapped a 3rd 2x6 between them and wedged the seat forward. Worked great and no damage. The old grease in the rail mechanism had solidified and restrited movement.- Top
