56 dash paint

Hello: I'm new to the group and a new Corvette owner, so I apologize in advance for my ignorance. Does anyone know the paint name, paint type and paint code for the dark blue used on the upper dash and inside doors of the 56, where the outside color is Arctic Blue / grey cove? It doesn't appear to be lacquer. PPG lists two interior blues in poly for 55 (PPG number 11329 (glacier blue poly) and PPG number 11328 (regal turquoise poly)), but has no listings for interior colors for 56. Your help is much appreciated. -- Jeff Villet

jeff: welcome to ncrs forum. interior blue same color and codes as the artic blue exterior. all laquer. upper dash blue, lower shoreline beige. the upper blue was a tad duller than the highly polished/buffed exterior blue.mike

If you get stuck for a paint formula I have one for base coat clear coat .

Try looking it up from the original PPG specs. Migrate to www.autocolorlibrary.com and you'll find the PPG original spec sheets giving blend codes vs. name. In MANY years the sheets behind the front summary exterior color chips call out interior specifics giving not only blend code specifics, but in many cases the exact gloss factor to use along with where this/that color was used for interior applications....
