I have a 1966 coupe and I ordered a black headliner from Al Knoch Interiors, Inc. and went to install it and it seems to be a 1/4" wider on each side. Headliner does not fit in the recess the clips that hold the molding on above the window and all the screw holes for the molding are covered by the headliner. Has anyone experienced this before? Looking for feed back.

Re: C2 1966 headliner
If all other aspects of the fit are good - you may find that just notching the area of the headliner at the clips will be suffient to insure a good install. Be careful to measure and estimate carefully. Think - then notch - better to notch too little then to go overboard. Hope this helps.- Top

Re: C2 1966 headliner
Tony,
Had the same experience when installing one on my '67. I assumed it would be the size as the original also. T******* is the only solution, otherwise the clips will bend and/or break trying to go through the material. After the headliner was centered, and the front and rear moldings screwed in, I used a small, curved pair of scissors to trim as necessary to allow the clip to enter the slot without having to go through any material. You have to remove the backing as well as the vinly material. Try to have the clip lined up and at the right angle to slip in, they're easy to bend. It's easy to find yourself pushing the clip at the wrong angle. I was told to have a couple of extra clips, and they were right. Good luck...(I have an extra clip if you need one)- Top

Same Problem
I had the same problem with a 65 headliner I got from Al Knoch. Spent half a day farting around trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I called them on the phone and they sent me the correct dimensions. check the one I had and the headliner made was to wide. They sent one out another one that day by UPS. It fit great.Installed it in 15 min. I wouldn't cut it unless you are in a hurry, talk to them first. Mike- Top
