Any tips for installing new hinge supports

Say, are there any tips or tricks further to the AMM for installing new hood hinge/core supports on new inner fenders?

Also, were the inner fenders painted black? The original ones on the front end were but previous owners could have done that.

Speaking for 68 and probably most years around there. Car body was first shot with red primmer, then shot with grey, then body color, then the car was blacked out (engine compartment, fender wells, etc), then tar based deadener was sprayed in the wheel wells to cover the top underside of the fenders. Sometimes just a little squirt to a whole lot all over the place (varies). So, you can see paint in the fender wells built up in that sequence. Hope that helps, Terry

I am not that familiar with 67. Be careful and go slowly before you bond the wheel well(s) in place. Try to have the hood on and check for overall fit along the edge of the hood. I know on C3 the bond between the hood and the wheel well can make a big difference on fit along the edge of the fender and hood. Later, Terry
