I have a set of extra alum. bolt on's what came with a recently purchased BB '67 roadster. They seem to be original wheels in every way. On the back, they have the number D-49985 cast into the wheel. But ( here's the wierd part) just above that number there is a small patch where all the wheels were slightly ground. One wheel still has the remenants of K-H showing at the grind spot. Anyone ever seen this before ?? One NCRS member suggested they might be an early repro. that used the original molds and ground off the K-H for legal reasons. Has anyone ever run into this before ?

Re: Wierd '67 Bolt-On Wheels
Tom, Don't know if this would help you or not, but those early repos had the webs about 1/6" too thick at the polished surface and the dish around the rim is shallower than an original. I can't say about the back side.- Top

Re: Wierd '67 Bolt-On Wheels
Tom,
I don't know many of the specifics about the original 67 bolt-on but I do know that the D-49985 is the number found on the back of the original 66 knock-off wheel. It would seem to me that the original 67 bolt-on wouldn't be the same number. TBarr #24014- Top
