Re: tires
Lyndon...I can't speak to the dimension of the white stripe on the 70-72 tires, I can however speak to what tire is currently available from Goodyear with an extra narrow white stripe. I've inquired at several local dealers and the only tire I found from Goodyear that's available today, is the Integrity. I'm not sure what the metric equivelent is for your original tires, but I'm looking at a recent brochure that shows the extra narrow white stripe Integrity available is in the following sizes: 205/70R15; 215/70R15; 225/70R15; 205/75R15; 215/75R15; 225/75R15. The width of the white stripe on the original G70 15 Goodyear's that would have been installed on my '74 is 3/8" ( I confirmed the 3/8" white stripe width from the '73'-'77 Team Leader, Marvin Burnett took the measurements himself off a set he had. I noticed that reference is made to 70-72 Goodyear white line tires with a 3/8" stripe on page 174 of Corvette Central's catalog...you'll want to further confirm. The white stipe on the 225/70R15 Integrity's that I'll be purchasing for my '74 is 7/16". I found that all white stripes on different sized Integrity's are not the same...I measured one of their "white walls" at 3/4". You can go to the Tire Rack and check out their write up, ratings, warranty, sizes, etc. Good luck...- Top

Correction...
Lyndon,
My Goodyear Integrity 225/70R15 tires arrived at my tire shop today with a whitewall width of 3/4". The tire warehouse that he had contacted for information, took or conveyed the wrong measurement.
