Question for Dennis Clark, ref. C2 oil gauge line.

    Dennis,

About a week ago you responded to the thread on the copper plated steel oil gauge to engine line and said the (Paragon's perhaps) repos had several dimensions that were not as originals. Are these dimension differences critical to function or are they critical only to judging. I am wanting to replace my copper line but don't want to end up getting something that won't work. I am not concerned as to the judging issue.

Wayne, From the standpoint of function, ...

...it really makes no difference what the diameter of the pressure line is. As long as you order the "kit", which should include the fittings to match the line size, you should be good to go. Some judges may not notice the difference anyway. In the examples I've seen the original is 1/32" smaller OD than the reproduction. But, who knows, maybe someone has stepped up to making the correct size. In any case, your gauge reading will be the same, regardless.
