My original air cleaner decal is ripped and cannot be saved. I have tried to find a replacement but the ones made for "1978" are incorrect. They all have a "CG" in the lower left hand corner and for an L-48 the correct code is "CE". All of the reproductions that say "CE" are produced for 1976/1977 and therefore the date codes are incorrect. Additionally they are say "Keep Your GM Car..." and my original decal says "Keep Your GM Vehicle...", (evidentally GM changed the wording mid 1978), and these are only produced for 1979+ and have the incorrect "CG" code.
My question is which is best, (if any), for judging? A 1977 with the correct "CE" code, wrong wording(at least on my late production 1978, and an earlier date code(by 1+ year), or the correct wording with wrong "CG" code and a later date code?
Again the original sticker is too far gone to save,(recent judging heavy deduction for "half missing" and condition), and I cannot leave it off the recently repainted air cleaner unit.
