    1960 Speedometer cable

The 1960 AIM states that cable 1568842 was changed on AIN date 8/12/59 to # 1588670 - no description of either cable beyond that. The Judging Manual that I have calls out the cable as "steel case" An April 1, 1960 and an August 1961 parts books call out the "production shaft" as 1563435 at 61 1/8" long and state "Not to be confused with Service Cable 1563561.", which is listed as 68 5/8" long. Paragon calls out a "gray case" 60" long. Corvette Central calls out "gray case" 62" long. So what SHOULD I be looking for? Or should I just drive by the tach......

I think '58 - '60 were the same, at least the catalogs I have list them as the same. The original speedo case on my '58 is steel.

Loren, I didn't think race cars had speedometers! Did you get your driving lights at Barrett Jackson? Eric
