71 fan shroud

What is the correct part nunber for the fan shroud. Car is a late 71 with A/C. Currently has part 3956109 and is missing the bottom section.
Is this the correct part for an A/C Auto car?
If so can the bottom extension be purchase by itself.
Does the bottom have a part number?

Ralph,

The bottom section can be purchased by itself. I bought one a while back for my 71. Of note, someone had painted it black, so I used paint stripper and revealed the natural black fiberglass, which is how it should appear. Check with Doc Rebuild - he may have them, and I know he has the fasteners.

I'm not able to check my 71 at the moment to confirm the number. I could on Sunday, however.

I believe that the extension part # was 331870, long discontinued. There are several vendors that are reproducing this piece. One is Jim Sermersheim's in Evansville, Indiana Phone 812-424-4701

Thanks, the Doc had the part. Now I noticed the shroud number is Paragon's catalog is for a non a/c car 4 speed. May have to change it if the extension does not fit.

The GM #3956109 is the correct fan shroud for a 1971 SMALL BLOCK with C-60 application. The same shroud was also used for all 1971 Corvettes with small block and THM-400, with or without C-60. It was used for all 1971 LT-1s (except ZR-1), too.

The original lower extension for your application was GM #3956118. That part was discontinued in January, 1983 and replaced by GM #331870 which is still available from GM.
