    C1 60 Trunk latch mechanism

My trunk latch doesn’t release the latch. The high place on the pawl pushes the
release down, but not quite far enough. It needs to travel another 1/8”.
If I use a small shim between the two it works fine. I could drop a glob of weld on it and it would probably work. What normally fails? The pawl looks to be about the size of my drawing and the latch mechanism seems to function properly.
I don’t know if the pawl is available or if that is even the problem.

    Larry,
The cam is frequently eaten away when the latch is sent out to the plating shop. They use acid usually to clean the parts, and the cam is made of pot metal and will eat away real quick. There are two rivets that hold the retainer on that locates the cam. Mary Jo did have these cams at one time, but I am not sure if they are still available. If you can't find one let me know, I still have a couple of NOS latches if you need one.
