Does anyone know a good color match for the silver paint that is used on the front grill of a 1967 Corvette (the backside that isn't chromed). I would swear the paint on mine is factory original but I was told otherwise during flight judging at a regional show. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 1967 Corvette - Front Grill
I used Krylon Dull Aluminum...haven't had it judged but it sure looks like the color remnants that I definitely know are correct. I masked the front (chrome side) major chrome and sprayed from the rear only. This left a very small amount of residual paint on the smaller Chrome surfaces which I removed with a "Q" tip and laquer thinner...Looks awesome!! Then I masked off the brackets and painted them with Blitz Black.- Top

Re: 1967 Corvette - Front Grill
Jim,
My 67 grill is factory original too and I was told that the paint was wrong at a regional. I am almost certain that the grill on my car had never been off the car before I bought it. Nothing on the car had been touched including paint, interior etc... I am going to leave it as is and fight for it at the National in Park City.

Jim, I bet yours is original. Wait until it is judged again, I hope to see your car at Waco this year. Have some of the other seasoned experts look at it for a viewpoint. I was ready to buy new wipers for my car as they had been considered wrong. When I spoke with the team leader and some other folks, found out they were correct.- Top
