2008 NCRS Convention in San Antonio, TX

Is this a national convention? I need some details if anyone has them. Also, could someone give me details on what the Founders Award is and what a Corvette owner must do to compete?

Yes, this is a National Convention.Details on the meet will be comming soon.
Let me see if I can remember all the stuff for Founders. You must write an artical and submit only for the Restorer magazine. You must drive your car and have your car judged at a Chapter meet achiving a Second Flight or better. You have to drive the car on the National Road Tour (to the National Convention), 500 Miles.At the Nationals you have to pass the operation's test. Seems like I had to drive to a regional meet also. All with-in a 3 year time period.

Bob's left out a few minor items and there IS an order to the things that need to be done to achieve a Founder's Award...

(1) Become a member of any NCRS Chapter.
(2) Drive the car to/from a Chapter Meet for Flight Judging and achieve 3rd Flight or better.
(3) Drive the car to/from a Regional Meet for a Founders Operation Check and achieve 96% or better results.
(4) Author and submit an article for Restorer Magazine and have it accepted by the editor (doesn't have to be published).
(5) Drive the car at least 500 miles on the National Road Tour to a National Convention.
(6) Achieve Level 1 status in the NCRS Judging or Tabulation Recognition Program.
(7) Submit the car for a Founders Operation Check at the NCRS National Meet you've driven to and achieve 96% or better results (NOBODY has failed this!).
(8) Complete all of these items within a 3-year time window.

I agree with Dennis, this award is a HOOT! It's aimed at the member who has participated in every key aspect of the club. The award recognizes both the owner and the car. It's intended for the owner who wants to participate, but would rather drive/use the car vs. make a museum piece out of it!
