I'm starting to get my '73 NON-A/C ready for a PV in April. Question: Under the Heater & Air Conditioning System / Heater Fan Speeds (page 24) - It states if the left thumb is in the off position, the blower should not operate. I checked the 73 Chevrolet Service Manual which states this under the A/C Section, but states nothing in the heater section concerning Non-A/C cars. Can anyone give me a definite on this one before I start chasing ghosts in a very cold garage? As always, any help would be appreciated. Tim 26883

Re: 1973 - 77 P.V. Question
Hi Tim,
I have a '73 non-AC car also. Just a guess here, but I think what the manual is trying to say is just that no air should come out of the ducts, as you have selected them all closed. I have gone through my heating system and do not believe that there is any electrical switch that would cut the current via the thumb wheel.

Re: 1973 - 77 P.V. Question
Hey Mike, I thought that first but I know with early G.M. A/C, if the slider was in the off position, the blower fan would not work even if 'pushed' to a position ( 1-2-3-4). Does your car's blower fan work with the left thumb wheel in the closed/off position? Let me know. Thanks, Tim- Top

Re: 1973 - 77 P.V. Question
Tim,
Let me go out to the garage tonight and check. I'm 99% sure that the blower runs regardless of the thumbwheel position, I'll let you know.
