I need to repair where the gremlins got into my wire harness. I have a roll of the proper tape to wrap it with. I need direction as to how they would wrap the exit points and where they terminated the harness. Any books that show how this is done?

Re: proper wrap for wire harness
I don't know of any books. Just study your harness... you'll find that the wrap is just tied in a knot at the terminating end. Tees are just wrapped under the tee and then continued down the harness to an end... nothing fancy.- Top

Re: proper wrap for wire harness
Steve,
The factory assembly manual shows some of what you are referring to, such as how many inches of certain wires are exposed before they are taped to the harness, like the wires to the coil, heater blower motor, etc. Hope that helps...- Top

Thanks
Steve and Rob thanks for the info. A lot of my harness has been reworked but I have areas that look original. The starter, alt, volt reg and horn relay were all changed so they used the pretty plastic stuff from Auto Zone (little China) to cover the harness they cut apart.- Top

Re: proper wrap for wire harness
Steve,
I've noticed on several of my wires that there's actually a small white mark corresponding to where the wrap was ending. It wasn't on all of the wires, just one out of the several in the bundle leaving the main harness. Maybe look and see if any of these marks are left on your wires.
