C1 Steering Wheels

Do you know of anyone restoring original C1 steering wheels? Mine is cracked in a few places.

A fellow Michigan NCRS member , Richard Dunham, has done a few for fellow members and the resulsts were fantastic. I don't know if he is doing as a business for other than friends/associates though. I believe his email address is listed in the Michigan NCRS website.

agrtee with rick. richard does excellent work. have also had Gary's of Carlisle, pa do some wheels. both do super job. mike

Gary's did my '63 wheel 18 mos. ago. I am VERY impressed with his work.

C1 Steering Wheels

The important thing is to restore the texture originally found in these wheels but usually worn smooth after years of use. Some restorers may not be aware of this subtle characteristic. I'd like to do my own but don't know the technique to duplicate this texture. Fixing a crack and repainting it is the easy part.

Texture? WHOA! NO idea how he does it.
