    Generator bracket

I am looking to buy an upper generator bracket [or possibly alternator bracket]with the part number 3704884 stamped into it. ANY condition considered. Any help or information on this part is also GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.

    Doug----

GM #3704884 was not a generator bracket; it was a generator BRACE (the curved, flat piece that includes the generator belt adjustment slot). This piece was used on the vast majority of 1955-1958 Chevrolets and Corvettes with V-8 engines. It is not a Corvette-unique piece, at all. It was discontinued on December 1, 1959 and replaced by GM #3760364, the 1959+ brace.

By now, there's probably not too much 55-58 Chevrolet "iron" out there in "big city" salvage yards. However, I'll bet there are a lot of these to be found in "off-the-beaten-path" sort of wrecking yards.
