starter brace

Is the starter brace for BB cars still serviced from GM as does anyone know the part #? also the bolt that goes onto the block, anyone know what the bolt should be? thanks

Several different braces were used for 65-74 big blocks. However, for a 1971 which I believe is what you're talking about, it's GM #3965588. That part is still available from GM for about 7 bucks, GM list.

The bolt, GM #3973388, is discontinued but replaced by GM #14020698. The latter bolt carries a GM list price of $6.55 so, obviously, GM is really proud of it and it must be a really good bolt.
