C3 Coolant Recovery Tank

First, life is good. The recent heavy rain here in Connecticut and our local street cleaners have the salt and sand off the roads. The Vette started, stopped, and shifted after a four month sleep.

Two questions: does the hose inside the the Recovery Tank on a '74 go all the way to the bottom of the tank and does the overflow from the tank have any routing brackets or does it just stick down between the heater hoses? The Assenbly Mannual just shows a cut-off view of the overflow hose.

Hi Bill, The recovery tank hose drops down on an angle in which it sits about a 1/2" from the bottom. The overflow hose sticks straight out with a slight bend down so if there is spillage it will land on the inside fender skirt, and there are no brackets to route it. The only clamps are (1) radiator overflow hose to recovery tank. (2) inside recovery tank hose to bottom of cap. Also it's the same type clamp as used on the hoses (PCV,CHARCOAL CANISTER)to the carburator.
