    '61 270hp vacuum hose

I'm not sure how to route the vacuum hose from back of carb to washer vacuum can. Does it go in front of the radio ground strap, spark wire and shield bracket and then to the firewall or straight to the firewall behind the throttle linkage? What keeps it off the throttle linkage if it goes behind? Also, the black ground wire from the right radio bracket I have lead straight through the fire wall with the right wiring harness. It is supposed to go to the valve cover. Even going to the left v.cover it seems excessively long. How is this wire routed? Should it maybe be lead under dash to the left side then out?
    Thanks in advance.

    Richard...

The vacuum hose from the carb. ties into the washer hose harness at the point of the firewall grommet and follows the harness down to the vacuum cannister.

The radio (black) ground wire is routed thru the firewall grommet that supports the wires from the ballast resistor. The same rear-right valve cover screw that grounds the wiper motor is used to terminate the radio ground.

Dennis, Off the back of the carb. does the hose go straight to firewall past the washer hose grommet hole etc. or does it go in front of the ground strap, throttle linkage and sparkplug wire bracket and then to the fire wall past the gromet etc?

The black radio ground wire is original and it is pretty long. I guess I can pull a bit back under the dash or does the extra wire just go under the shielding and hang down in the body transmission tunnel?
Sorry to bother about this, I just would like to get it right. All the photos and reference books I have , it is just too dark back there to see which way they go. Thanks again.

        Richard...

My car has never been judged (yet), but my hose goes straight back to the firewall, turns and a Alum. Tie strap is installed as it unites with the washer hose bundle just before the clip.

The Radio black wire runs with the ammmeter to starting wiring harness clips, thus taking up the extra slack under the dash.

I hope this helps, pictures would be better, I well see if I have any...
